This is a metropolitan park with Sanboji Pond, known as one of the three major spring-fed ponds in Musashino, located in Nerima Ward. Unfortunately, the pond is filled with well water due to a decrease in water volume, but valuable aquatic plants and many trees have been preserved, leaving a beautiful landscape.
There is also a swamp plant community designated as a national natural treasure, and the wooden path by the pond is ideal for nature observation and strolling. Be sure to stop by the waterfront observation garden as well.
You can enjoy boating on Shakujii Pond, another pond in the park. In spring, the cherry blossoms along the shore of the pond become very beautiful, making it a great place for couples and families to enjoy the sunshine by the water.
Although the park is full of water resources, it also has many sports facilities and plazas, such as baseball fields and tennis courts, so you can enjoy physical exercise as well.
Nearby are picture book author Chihiro Iwasaki’s art museum and Zempukuji Park.
