Designated as a park in 1873 along with Ueno, Asakusa, Fukagawa, and Asukayama, it is one of the oldest parks in Japan.

After the war, in accordance with the principle of separation of religions, the grounds of Zojoji Temple, which had been a part of the park, were removed and the present Zojoji Temple is surrounded by the park.

Shiba Park Tokyo

The park has many trees and beautiful scenery, including ginkgo and zelkova trees as well as a large camphor tree, and in spring, the 200 cherry trees planted throughout the park bloom beautifully.

In the park, there is an artificial ravine called “Momijidani,” and in autumn, visitors can enjoy the tasteful scenery of the 10-meter-high waterfall in the “Momijidani” and the surrounding autumn leaves.

In the surrounding area, Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower are located on the inner side of the park and are also worth exploring in combination.

The park is a place where you can enjoy both daytime and nighttime views, so please come and enjoy them.
