This is a long and narrow park built along the coast facing Haneda Airport at the southeast end of Keihin Island in Ota-ku, Tokyo. The park used to be famous for its close view of airplanes taking off and landing at Haneda Airport.
Recently, due to changes in the use of Haneda Airport’s runways, it is no longer possible to get a close-up view of the planes, but it is still used under certain conditions. Even if not up close, it is one of the closest parks to the airport, so it is a great place for families and couples to watch airplanes and see the wide ocean and sky with airplanes in the background.
There is a barbecue area near the lawn on the north side of the park, which, like the neighboring parks, is free of charge and does not require reservations.
Nearby is Jonanjima Kaihin Park, which is also suitable for watching airplanes take off and land, so it is fun to compare the different angles from which airplanes take off and land.
