Located in Kinshicho, Sumida-ku, near Kinshicho Station, Kinshi Park is a multi-purpose sports park and is known as a cherry blossom viewing spot.
Close to downtown, the park is a community-based park that can be easily visited, and the annual Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the enjoyable events held through community interaction.
The park has not only someiyoshino cherry trees but also weeping cherry trees, and their splendid appearance amid the high-rise buildings in the background provides a relaxing place to take a break while enjoying the striking contrasts that only the city can offer.
Although it is conveniently located only a few minutes’ walk from Kinshicho Station, it has not yet become that famous, and now may be the best place of all for cherry blossom viewing.
If you go there before the start of the Sakura Festival, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms even more leisurely.
Nearby is the Sumida Edo Kiriko Museum, where you can actually try your hand at Edo-style glass faceting.
