The cherry trees along the 8-km-long Meguro River, which runs from Setagaya-ku, Tokyo to Meguro-ku, Shinagawa-ku, and then to Tokyo Bay, stretch about 3.8 km from Ohashi to Meguro Station.

The cherry trees lining both banks of the Meguro River, with approximately 830 Someiyoshino cherry trees planted, make a spectacular view from the center of some of the bridges over the river, creating a tunnel of cherry blossoms that seems to absorb the viewer.

Families are recommended to enjoy cherry blossom viewing at the “Sakura Terrace” in Nakameguro Park or at the children’s playground on the way to the park.

The cherry blossoms and waterfalls in Saigoyama Park, which rises a little higher, are beautiful, and if the weather is fine, you can even view Mt. Fuji. Along the river, there are many lanterns and a cherry blossom festival held at night, so couples and adults alike can enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms.

Daikanyama is located nearby, so you can enjoy shopping and eating at cafes before and after cherry blossom viewing.
