Save the date of August 12, 2023, as one of Tokyo’s most distinguished summer events, the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival is set to illuminate the skies once again.

Held in the heart of Tokyo at the Meiji Jingu Gaien in Shinjuku Ward, this year marks the 42nd celebration of this urban-style fireworks festival that masterfully combines live music and fireworks for a great night.

What To Expect?

Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival

From 19:30 to 20:30, the festival will launch a mesmerizing display of 10,000 fireworks that will paint the night sky with brilliant colors. This one-hour spectacle promises to be a breathtaking display of artistry and precision that will undoubtedly become the highlight of your August in Tokyo.

The Dual Venues: Jingu Stadium and Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium

Paid viewing areas are available at two locations. At the main venue, the Jingu Stadium, guests can look forward to a live music performance by artists before the fireworks display begins, allowing visitors to enjoy both music and pyrotechnics in one setting.

Meanwhile, at the Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium, visitors can appreciate the fireworks’ magnificence while also enjoying live video of the Jingu Stadium stage.

The festival will proceed even in the event of rain. If severe weather conditions prevent the launch of the fireworks on August 12, the festival will be postponed to the following day, August 13.

Details about tickets and the lineup of performing artists will be announced at a later date.
