Hibiya Park is a historic and popular public park located in Chiyoda City, Tokyo, Japan. It was opened in 1903 and is one of the first Western-style parks in the country.

Covering an area of 16.1 hectares, Hibiya Park offers a green oasis in the heart of Tokyo, surrounded by modern buildings and busy streets.

Hibiya Park is known for its beautiful landscaping, featuring a mix of Japanese and Western design elements.

The park is home to several picturesque ponds, walking paths, a large fountain, and various species of trees and flowers that change with the seasons. In particular, Hibiya Park is popular during the cherry blossom sakura season where it puts on a great show, as well as for autumn foliage.

This metropolitan park is adjacent to Kasumigaseki and Yurakucho. Because of its location, it is a place of relaxation and greenery for people working in the business district.

The “Grand Fountain,” the largest symbol of the park, offers 24 patterns of scenery in a 28-minute cycle, so just relaxing around the fountain and looking at the scenery is a restful experience.

The fountain plaza and the first and second flowerbeds are often used as scenes from TV dramas, so it is fun to stroll around while looking for a good spot to take pictures.

The park is also planted with ginkgo trees and cherry trees, and in season, visitors can enjoy nature by viewing the ginkgo trees and the flowers at Ungata Pond.

The park is also home to the Hibiya Public Hall and the Grand Concert Hall, where many concerts and events are held, so a stroll while enjoying the afterglow after listening to music is also recommended.

The surrounding area is also dotted with many famous places such as the Imperial Palace and the Diet Building.

The park also hosts various cultural events throughout the year, such as outdoor concerts, art exhibitions, and seasonal festivals. The Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall, located within the park, serves as a venue for musical performances and other events.

 

Hibiya Park is easily accessible from multiple train and subway stations, including Hibiya Station, Kasumigaseki Station, and Uchisaiwaicho Station.
