This Yasukuni Shrine is located in Kudanshita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and enshrines those who lost their lives due to the national affairs of Japan.
There are about 600 cherry trees, mainly Someiyoshino and Yamazakura, in the precincts of Yasukuni Shrine.
Every year, the Japan Meteorological Agency checks Someiyoshino trees here to forecast and announce the blooming of cherry trees in Tokyo.
The “Yasukuni no Sakura,” which is the standard for the forecast, is located near the second torii gate on the right side of the shrine, past the shrine gate, and is a must-see to find.
The cherry blossoms in front of the hall of worship and in front of the Otorii (Grand Gate) are especially worth seeing.
The combination of the majestic buildings of Yasukuni Shrine and cherry blossoms is a unique scenery.
There are many cherry blossom viewing spots nearby, such as Chidorigafuchi and Kitanomaru Park.
