Located in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, Yoyogi Park is a “forest park” and is the fifth largest urban park in the 23 wards. It is said to have the “widest sky views” in central Tokyo.
More than 500 cherry trees, mainly Someiyoshino, are planted throughout the park and there are many flat grassy areas such as the central square, so it is pleasant to view cherry blossoms while lying down and relaxing.
It is fun to bring your own lunch, but as in the heart of the city, caterers are also available, so you can go cherry blossom viewing empty-handed or on a moment’s notice and buy food and drinks in the park.
The view of the city center and cherry blossoms from the observation deck, which was the first of its kind in Japan, is a spectacular sight that you will surely want to keep in your photos.
In the surrounding area, there are many spots where you can enjoy nature and modernity in the heart of the city, including Meiji Shrine and Harajuku and Omotesando Hills.
