Opened in 2003 in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Roppongi Hills was at the time the largest-scale urban redevelopment project in Japan, which aimed to create a new cultural city center in Tokyo.

Roppongi Hills Mori Garden Cherry Blossom Sakura

Mori Garden, one of the cherry blossom viewing spots at Roppongi Hills, is a Japanese-style garden with a history dating back to the Edo period.

There are eight Someiyoshino cherry trees and two weeping cherry trees planted here, and these cherry trees have been here since before Roppongi Hills was built.

It is beautiful to enjoy cherry blossom viewing while strolling through the garden, and the view from Hillside, where there are restaurants and cafes on the west side of the garden, is also wonderful, and the cherry blossoms are lit up so you can enjoy a fantastic view.

The sakura also looks great a night among the illumination so it’s a great evening cherry viewing spot, perhaps after checking out the Tokyo View observation deck and then as a warmup to a night on the town.

Nearby are ARK Hills and Atago Green Hills, so you can enjoy a tour of the urban hills filled with cherry blossoms.

The Tokyo City View Observation Deck is also in the same precinct.
