The National Art Center, Tokyo
The National Art Center, Tokyo, located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, opened in January 2007 as Japan’s fifth national art museum on the site of the former Institute of Industrial Science of the University of Tokyo. Designed by Kisho Kurokawa, the museum includes a café, restaurant, and museum store.
The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)
The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, is an art museum in Kitanomaru Park and is operated by the Independent Administrative Institution, the National Museum of Art, Tokyo. In addition to the main museum building, there is also the Crafts Gallery (1-1 Kitanomaru Park, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and the Film Center (3-7-6 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
Mitsuo Aida Museum of Art (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)
The Mitsuo Aida Museum of Art is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, on the basement floor of the Glass Building of the Tokyo International Forum, and is divided into Hall 1 and Hall 2. Hall 1 contains a café, museum store, and exhibition rooms, while Hall 2 contains exhibition rooms, a reproduction of Mitsuo’s studio, and a video corner.
Mitaka no Mori Ghibli Museum (Mitaka City, Tokyo)
The Mitaka-no-mori Ghibli Museum in Mitaka City, Tokyo, is located in the West Garden of the Tokyo Metropolitan Inokashira Onshi Park and was designed based on cross-sectional sketches by Hayao Miyazaki himself. The museum has a cat-bus playground, animation studio, rooftop garden with robot soldiers, library reading room, café, and other facilities for visitors to enjoy a relaxing time.
Mori Art Museum (Minato-ku, Tokyo)
The Mori Art Museum in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is located on the 53rd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. The Mori Art Museum offers a wide range of exhibitions based on various themes.
The International Museum of Graphic Arts (Machida City, Tokyo)
Located in Serigaya Park in Machida City, Tokyo, the Museum of Graphic Arts opened in 1987 and specializes in prints. The museum includes a printmaking studio, atelier, and exhibition rooms. Various special exhibitions, such as the Machida City Public Elementary and Junior High School Exhibition, are also held here.
