Inokashira Park was the first suburban park in Japan and was established in Musashino City, Tokyo in 1913. The park is centered around Inokashira Pond, known as one of the three largest spring-fed ponds in Musashino, and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms, which have been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan.

Around 250 Someiyoshino and Yamazakura cherry trees are in full bloom around Inokashira Pond, and a stroll around the park provides a picturesque view of cherry blossoms reflected in the pond and petals floating on the surface of the water.

A boat ride on the pond will allow you to blend in with the scenery and enjoy a relaxing and comfortable time. Families and couples will surely have an unforgettable experience.

Don’t forget to visit the weeping cherry near Nanai Bridge, which offers a different view of the cherry blossoms than the ones in the park.

There are also a number of cultural facilities nearby, including the Mitaka-no-mori Ghibli Museum of Art and Inokashira Nature and Culture Park, both located on the south side of the pond.
