Hikifunegawa Shinsui Kouen in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo is located in the south-southwest direction from JR Kameari Station in the center of Kameari, Katsushika-ku, and is a well-developed water park stretching about 3 km from north to south.
The park has a long history, as its name Hikifunegawa comes from the fact that small boats with ropes were towed in the Edo period (1603-1867). In summer, the park is a popular spot for families to play in the water, as both banks of the river are covered with greenery and the straight, clear line of sight makes it a unique water play spot.
In addition to the three water playgrounds in the park, there are also naturally landscaped waterways where aquatic plants and crayfish can be seen.
The flowers and plants around the park change with the seasons, making it a great place for picnics and cherry blossom viewing, and in June, visitors can enjoy the magnificent irises.
A walking path is also maintained along the waterway, which is loved and used by local residents as a place where they can take a leisurely stroll while enjoying the flowers and plants.
