The promenade is about 700m long along Chidorigafuchi moat on the west side of the Imperial Palace in Chiyoda-ku, and is said to be one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo.
About 260 Someiyoshino and Oshima cherry trees make the entire promenade a tunnel of cherry blossoms. It is a great place for families and friends to enjoy a leisurely walk, and the contrast of the cherry blossoms hanging over the surface of the Chidorigafuchi water provides a wonderful view with depth and many great photo opportunities.
The well-maintained promenade is so impressive that you can feel the care and concern of the shagas blooming at the base of the Someiyoshino cherry trees.
There is also a boat dock where you can take a boat ride and look up at the cherry blossoms from the moat. At night, the cherry blossoms are lit up and the reflection on the water is wonderful, making it a popular hanami spot.
The surrounding Chidorigafuchi Park and the Imperial Palace are located just to the north, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
The Nippon Budokan, a mecca for musicians, is also nearby.
