Located between Kita-ku and Itabashi-ku, this metropolitan park is integrated with Ukimagaike Pond in front of Ukimafunatowatari Station on the JR Saikyo Line and its surrounding area.
The original Arakawa River used to meander through the area, but when the river was straightened by river improvement, Ukimagaike Pond remained as a remnant of the river.
On the west side of the pond stands a windmill, the symbol of the park, and the view over the pond is refreshing and beautiful. As a waterside park, waterfowl can also be seen, and from mid to late November, many ducks come to the park, adding a nice accent to the scenery.
Near the windmills, there is a lawn area with many cherry trees, ginkgo trees, and other trees, which will be ideal for cherry blossom viewing and picnics with the family during the flowering season.
The pond is also a great spot for fishing enthusiasts, as it is teeming with spoonbills and carp. In the surrounding area, there are a number of sports facilities on the banks of the Arakawa River, which runs just to the north of the park.
