Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden is a 7,700 square meter site boasting 6,000 iris plants of 200 species.
Horikirishobuen has been famous for its irises since the Edo period (1603-1868) and is included in the 100 best views of Edo and depicted in nishikie woodblock prints by Ando Hiroshige and others.
The best time to see the irises is around the middle of June, when the Katsushika Iris Festival is held. During the Festival, the park is open longer than usual.
