Okunitama Shrine is located in the center of Fuchu City in close proximity to the Fuchu Race Track, and has been protecting the local people as the guardian god of Musashino for over 1,900 years since its construction in 111 AD.

It is also known for the legend of the Seven Wonders of Okunitama Shrine. The shrine enshrines Okunitama-no-Ookami, the Great God of the Okunitama Shrine.

The shrine’s divine virtues are to ward off bad luck and evil spirits, to bring good luck and fortune, to ensure the safety of the family, and to promote prosperity in business.

During the New Year’s visit, the New Year’s Day Festival and the New Year’s Celebration are held, and at midnight on January 1, the first drum beating ceremony with the largest drum in Japan is held, attracting many people. About 400,000 people are said to visit the shrine.

It is about a 5-minute walk from Fuchu Station on the Keio Line, and about a 5-minute walk from Fuchu Honmachi Station on the JR Line. There are about 200 parking spaces available.
