Nihonbashi Sakura Dori is a narrow street of about 1 km extending from Tokyo Station to Kayabacho in Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

Nihonbashi Sakura Dori

The history of the street is quite old. After cherry trees were planted in 1936, they were destroyed by fire during the war, and were planted again in 1956 and named “Sakura-dori” at that time.

It is a one-way street with two lanes from the Yaesu North Exit of Tokyo Station to Kayabacho, with the long-established Takashimaya Department Store on the left near Nihonbashi.

During the cherry blossom season, the approximately 169 cherry trees planted along the street create a tunnel, which is gradually illuminated in the evening by the lights of the surrounding buildings and stores, creating a faint glow as if illuminated by indirect lighting, and after sunset the street is illuminated to further accentuate its beauty.

Nearby are Tokyo Station, the Imperial Palace, Hibiya Park, and other tourist attractions.
