The must-visit Shinjuku Gyoen, a national park in Shinjuku, is a 58.3-hectare garden created in 1906.

The park has a long history of cherry blossom culture, including the Cherry Blossom Viewing Party (Hanami), which started as an imperial event to promote international goodwill, and there are 1,300 cherry trees of about 65 varieties, including the Ginkgo biloba, a representative double-flowered cherry tree from that era. Visitors can enjoy various kinds of cherry blossoms from February to the end of April.

Visitors can also enjoy cherry blossom-related souvenirs and sweets at the park’s store.

In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also gardens inspired by the cultures of Japan, France, and England, where visitors can enjoy the seasonal flowers and plants as well as the cherry blossoms grown there.

It is the best cherry blossom viewing spot in central Tokyo that can be enjoyed by people of all ages from Japan and abroad.

Nearby are Meiji Jingu Shrine, Meiji Jingu Gaien, and other facilities where you can enjoy nature, as well as the Shinjuku subcenter, one of Japan’s leading downtown areas and business districts.
