From August 10th to 13th, 2023, Ueno Park in Taito-ku, Tokyo will host the All-Nation Ume Shu Festival. An opportunity for aficionados and newcomers alike, attendees can savor and compare 181 varieties of plum wine crafted by breweries from all over the nation.
It’s been four years since this delightful plum wine event was last held in Ueno Park, making this the sixth installment.
What To Expect
Expect a variety: from sake-based plum wines to shochu-based versions, citrus-infused offerings with yuzu or orange, plum wines made with brandy, and even cloudy plum wines. It’s not just about tasting though – you’ll also be able to purchase your favorites right there. Rarity seekers can also indulge in paid tastings of the sought-after Dassai Ume Shu, and for those who like a twist, plum wine beers and other plum wine drinks are on sale.
Gourmet Pairings
Complementing the drinks, popular kitchen cars will be present, serving dishes that pair wonderfully with the diverse plum wine flavors. With many female participants, it promises to be a vibrant event.
