Kameari Katori Jinja in kameari is a shrine that is in part famous due to its appearance in the Japanese Manga series Kochikame and along with the Kochikame statues is a popular place to visit for fans of the show
On August 19, 1276 in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), Kameari was called Kasai Mikuriya Kamenashi-mura in Shimousa Province, and was the domain of the Katori Grand Shrine.
After that, both Kashima (Takemikazuchi no Mikoto) and Ikigara (Ki no Mikoto) were enshrined together, and they have continued to protect the villagers and the neighborhood as the Sanja Myojin of the three shrines in the eastern part of Japan.
