On August 19, 1276 in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), Kameari was called Kasai Mikuriya Kamenashi-mura in Shimousa Province, and was the domain of the Katori Grand Shrine.
After that, both Kashima (Takemikazuchi no Mikoto) and Ikigara (Ki no Mikoto) were enshrined together, and they have continued to protect the villagers and the neighborhood as the Sanja Myojin of the three shrines in the eastern part of Japan.
