Yamamoto-tei was originally the home of businessman Einosuke Yamamoto, and although it was built in the Taisho era, it was an unusual two-story house for its time.
It is a blend of Japanese and Western styles, with some parts Japanese and some parts Western.
The garden is a typical Shoin garden with lush greenery.
