The fantastic Takiyama Park is located in the center of the gently sloping Kasumi Hills that extend southeastward from the confluence of the Tama and Akigawa Rivers in Hachioji City.

The ruins of Takigawa Castle are located in the northern part of the park, and approximately 5,000 cherry trees are planted throughout the park, decorating the entire hillside.

The area around the ruins of Takiyama Castle, the residence of the Odawara Hojo clan that was active during the Warring States period, is maintained as a castle ruins park and is suitable for strolling.

The undulations are not too steep, so adults and children alike can easily enjoy a stroll. The number of cherry trees gradually increases as you walk along the Takiyama Park walking path from the east side toward the ruins of Takiyama Castle.

Once you enter the ruins of Takiyama Castle, you will be rewarded with a particularly spectacular view of a valley-like slope filled with a forest of cherry trees. The view overlooking the Tama River and the city of Haijima is also excellent.

There are also numerous parks along the Tama River and the Hachioji Takiyama Roadside Station in the vicinity, making it a great place for a drive and a stroll.
